Online gambling technology platform and services provider Nektan today announced the appointment of a new member of its senior management team. Simon Hay will join the company as its new Chief Financial Officer from June 17, 2019, it became known.
Mr. Hay boasts more than two decades of experience in accountancy and consultancy. He joins Nektan from a previous role as Finance Transformation Director at gambling powerhouse GVC Holdings. He is a Chartered Accountant who had qualified with global auditor KPMG where he also served as a Director. With KPMG he also held roles in audit, restructuring, and deal advisory, a statement on his appointment as Nektan’s new CFO reads.
Commenting on the newest addition to their team, Nektan CEO Lucy Buckley said today that they are delighted to welcome Mr. Hay and that he joins the company “at a very exciting time for the business as we continue our rapid growth and path to sustained profitability.” Ms. Buckley added that Mr. Hay’s
“international experience will be especially valuable as we expand into new emerging territories, providing leading gaming and casino brands with our technology and premium content globally.”
Nektan is an international gaming technology company that specializes in the provision of proprietary technology to online gambling operators as well as end-to-end technology and white label casino services. Its full end-to-end technology platform, Evolve, offers the company’s B2B clients the opportunity to focus on marketing their products by enabling the management of the full customer experience and back-office operations.
Exclusive Casino Content Deal
News about the appointment of Mr. Hay came shortly after Nektan announced that it has secured a deal with another major online gambling operator. The company said that it has extended its existing partnership with BetVictor.
The newly expanded deal will see Nektan develop exclusive casino content for the online gambling operator and three brands it operates. The content will be supplied to BetVictor via Nektan’s Open Remote Game Server.
According to a press release from last week, Nektan will develop branded slot games for its partner to help it enhance its existing online casino offering and its key partnerships. Work on the new games has already kicked off and Nektan said it is working with ReelFeel Gaming to develop and deliver the titles.
Nektan and BetVictor originally joined forces in October 2018 when it was announced that the supplier’s B2B E-Lite casino games platform had been integrated into BetVictor’s offering.
It has been an eventful year for Nektan. In April, the company announced that it has sold a 57.5% stake in its US operation Respin to Alternative Investment Partners Limited for a cash consideration of just under $400,000.
Nektan’s CEO said that the sale would enable the company to “retain a material stake in the emerging US market without funding it on an ongoing basis”. Ms. Buckley also added that they “firmly believe in our US mobile casino product” as it has been gaining traction steadily and has secured deals with some of the biggest land-based casinos in the world.
